If you get an error message when you attempt to access administration but the other utilities (such as new messages, keyword search, contact moderators) appear to function properly, it is possible that your server's perl distribution does not support the "crypt" function. It is also possible that some of the files associated with your Discus board were not correctly uploaded.
You could confirm this, or locate alternate potential causes of the problem, by accessing your diagnostics script. This will immediately point out any problems that can commonly cause this issue.
If you do see from your diagnostics that the CRYPT function failed, you need to download and install ActivePerl (if you have a Windows web server) to meet our system requirements.
If one or more template or source files is reported as not completely uploaded, or is mismatched in checksum, re-upload this file from your distribution to the server. After you do this, reload the diagnostics to confirm that the error message has gone away.
If diagnostics pass, you need to locate any relevant information in your server's error log prior to contacting DiscusWare for support.
