If a 500 "Internal Server Error" message is received when posting a message, yet the message is posted properly to the page and all other utilities work properly, there is almost certainly a problem with how e-mail notification is set up on your board. The error is occurring upon posting because that's when the e-mail notification messages are actually sent out, but it is not occurring during other operations that are not sending e-mail.

Test this hypothesis as follows. Log into administration as the superuser (normally "admin"). Go to Options Manager - E-mail tab and uncheck the e-mail notification box, and save your options. Return to your user interface and post a message. If there is no error this time, you have positively identified the problem.

• Leave e-mail notification disabled as you have it now.

• Correctly configure e-mail notification.
