The ability to generate an e-mail list of all users of your board is a feature of Discus Professional and is not available in the freeware version of the software.
Discus Professional 4.0 and higher
The mailing list is generated through the User Manager. Go into the group for which you wish to generate a mailing list. You can filter the list using any of the filter criteria that you desire. Then, mark the users to whom you wish to send the message (you may check the "Check to mark ALL users in this group (whether shown or not):" box if desired). Finally, click the mail icon in the bottom "(Marked)" row of the table. All of the e-mail addresses for the selected users will be published onto a page, which can be copied and pasted into your mail software.
A mailing list can also be generated through the Backup Manager, and is particularly useful if you have multiple groups and no criteria for filtering. To use this feature, go to Backup Manager, and under the Export tab, click the button to "Export Users." This will export your entire user database into a comma separated values (CSV) file, which can be opened with a spreadsheet program. From there, copy and paste the e-mail address column, or otherwise manipulate the data with the spreadsheet's native functions.
Discus Professional 3.x
The mailing list is generated through the Options Manager. Go to your Options Manager and click one of the links under "Mailing List Generation" to generate the desired mailing list. You have a choice between all registered users, all moderators, or both registered users and moderators. Additional filtering capabilities are not available in version 3.x.
Freeware Versions
The user information for your board is contained in your users.txt file, which is a colon delimited list of your users' usernames, encrypted passwords (which cannot be decrypted), e-mail addresses, full names, and some internal settings used by the program. To manipulate this file, you can import it into a spreadsheet and parse the data using the colon delimiter. This procedure is not supported by DiscusWare.
