How can I fix incorrect message counts or last updated dates?

It's as simple as reindexing and regenerating. Read this document for complete details.

Occasionally, a Discus board may display the wrong number of messages for a given subtopic or topic, or an incorrect last updated date. This is a rare problem but it does occur on a rare basis. Fortunately, it is easy to fix.

Step 1. Reindex your board. In Discus 4.0, go to Data Recovery, click the Tree tab, and click the "Reindex Selected Topic" button. In Discus 3.10, go to Board Manager and click the "Index Board" button in the Templates and Structure section.

Step 2. Regenerate the subtopic/message lists. In Discus 4.0, go to Appearance Manager, click the Regeneration tab, and click the "Regenerate Board" button. In Discus 3.10, go to Board Manager and click the "Regenerate Subtopic/Message Lists" button in the Templates and Structure section. Then click the "Regenerate Topic List" button.

Message counts and last updated dates should now be fixed.

Note: In version 3.01 and lower, the message dates are fixed only when a new message is posted, thus resulting in the date being changed from its former reading.
