How do I insert hyperlinks in my post?

A description of the Discus formatting tags used to create hyperlinks within your posts or other Discus areas.

To insert a hyperlink in your post, use the Discus "link" formatting tag like in the following example:

\link{http://www.discusware.com,Click here for some great discussion board software}

Make sure you start your link with http:// and that you include the entire server name. If you don't, the browser may treat your link as relative to the place where the message is posted, resulting in a "Not Found" message when someone clicks your link.

When you type a URL in your message without any formatting tags at all, the Discus program will automatically "activate" your link.

To make the link appear in a new window, use \newurl{} instead of "link" in the command above. To make the link take over all frames (appear in the "top" frame), use \topurl{} instead of "link" in the command above.

Consult the formatting instructions for complete documentation of all available formatting tags.
