How do I upload images to my post?

Instructions for uploading an image to your post on a Discus board.
Support Site Search

To upload an image to your post, within the "Add a Message" box, type the following:

\image{description}

description can be anything you want. This text will be used as the alternate text for the image (for those without an image-capable browser) and will also be used to identify the image for you when you are prompted to upload it. The alternate text, in most browsers, will also appear when visitors move their mouse over the image.

When you have composed your message, proceed to post your message as usual. You will then be prompted to supply file names for the images you selected. Follow on-screen instructions to upload the images to your posts.

In Discus Professional 4.0, the tables2 and tables3 skins include an alternate upload method that is easier than the one above. Simply click the "Upload Attachment..." button on the message form, and follow the instructions to upload your image. The image you add to your post will then be displayed in the preview, without the need for an image placeholder.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Image uploading works ONLY when you are posting a message for the first time. Image uploading does NOT work when you are editing a post, entering an Announcement or About Message, specifying the name of a subtopic, etc. If you attempt to use image uploading in one of these situations where it is not supported, you will either receive an error message that the \image{} formatting tag is not defined, or you will see the temporary placeholder icon but you will not be prompted to upload an image.
