Will Discus run on my server? (Its OS is _______)

The types of servers that Discus will (and will not) run on.
Support Site Search

A reading of the Discus system requirements will reveal that Discus is supported on the following platforms:

  • Unix (including Linux, Solaris, IRIX, etc.)
  • Windows 95/Windows 98/ME
  • Windows NT/2000

Discus has been configured on some Novell Netware servers. Click here to learn how it was done. DiscusWare does not support this procedure.

We have received occasional reports of success installing Discus onto Macintosh computers running OS X, which is based on Free BSD (a variant of unix). This is not officially supported by DiscusWare.

Discus has not been tested or designed to work with any system not appearing above. We have not had occasion to test Discus for ourselves on Macintosh, Novell, VMS, Amiga, DOS, OS/2, etc. DiscusWare offers to support for these platforms and has no immediate plans to port Discus or Discus Professional to these platforms.

As always, to determine if Discus will run on your system, you should download and install the freeware version of Discus prior to purchasing Discus Professional.
