In accordance with the Discus License Agreement, license transfers must be approved by DiscusWare, LLC. DiscusWare generally allows individuals and organizations to transfer their licenses to another party in most cases (e.g., transfering ownership of a domain to another party or updating records if an employee who purchased the license is no longer with the organization, or a consultant purchased the license on behalf of a client and has now finished that project).

It is very rare that we encounter a situation where we are not able to grant a license transfer request. The following are examples of situations which are in conflict with the terms or spirit of the license agreement, and under which license transfers are not granted.

• Purchaser will no longer be running the discussion board and wishes to sell his or her license to someone else so that the new licensee could run an entirely separate discussion board (e.g., selling a license "used", selling a license on eBay, and so on).

• Purchaser has previously violated the terms of the software licensing agreement (too many boards installed without a sufficient number of licenses to do so, acting as a reseller without consent, outstanding balance due, etc.).
