Both Discus and Discus Professional support in-line image upload, where the person posting a new message can upload one or more images. These images are uploaded to the server itself and become part of the post. Discus manages these images by deleting the files from the server when the message itself is removed.
Discus Professional adds additional features with regard to uploads. It accepts non-image uploads (called "attachments") which can be files such as Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, ZIP files, and PDF documents. In addition, with Discus Professional 4.0 and higher, a button on the "Add a Message" form simplifies the uploading process for the end-user.
