DiscusWare maintains a database of all license numbers and download passwords issued. If you forgot your download password, you can easily recover it by following this procedure. To use this automated method of recovering your password, you need to know your license number (or that you can determine it) and the e-mail address you registered the license under.

1. Go to the Discus secure purchasing area (this link will open in a new window).

2. If you registered with our shopping cart system on or after July 16, 2000, enter your e-mail address and the password you chose when you registered to access the main menu. If you never registered with our secure purchasing system, click the button for "I'm a new customer" and register yourself.

3. Once you have logged in, click the link for "Retrieve a lost Discus Professional download password" from the main menu. Enter your license number and the e-mail address you registered under. Your download password will be re-emailed to you.

   NOTE: Prior to late 2002, download passwords were randomly generated, so your download password is almost certainly different from your "usual" password! You can change your download password to something more memorable through the secure purchasing area.

Another option is to use our automated license recovery system. If you have Discus Professional 4.0 or higher installed, you will need to supply the URL to your board, and our system will look up your license number there. Once you've done this, answer a few questions about the purchaser of the license, and your password will be reset for you automatically.

Supply as much information as possible. We can generally get back to you in 2-3 days with your license information.
