Board administrator gets two copies of some e-mail notification messages

Explanation of how the Board Administrator can get two copies of all e-mail notification messages and receive notification of posts to topics even when the administrator has disabled e-mail notification in his or her own profile.

If you are using the BCC sending option (read the administration instructions for Options Manager for details) and you have entered your own e-mail address as the "To:" address, then you will receive a copy of EVERY message sent by the board.

If you have, in addition, enabled e-mail notification in your profile, you may receive two copies of the message. The first copy would arrive because you get a copy of EVERY message sent by the board. The second copy would come from your profile.

The e-mail account listed as the "to" address in the e-mail setup is the only address that will encounter this "problem." E-mail notification will work properly for other users.

The BCC method of e-mail sending is not recommended in Discus 4.0 and higher, due to improvements made in the sending code and customization of outgoing messages for their intended recipients.
