Please Note: This procedure will need to be done only in a rare set of circumstances, for example:

• You hold multiple licenses for Discus Professional under a single license number, but wish to upgrade only some of those licenses to a new version. DiscusWare "split" your license into multiple numbers to accommodate the upgrade.

• Your license number was compromised in some way, and you need a new license number and password. DiscusWare issued you this new information.

When you follow any procedures from this page, it is important that you back up any files before editing them. If something from these instructions seems to break your board, replace the original file.

1. Edit your discus.conf file. Therein will be a line such as the following:

   pro_license=XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

   Replace the old pro license number with your new one and save the file.

2. When transferring discus.conf to your server, be sure to use ASCII mode.

1. Edit your board-admin-menuonly.cgi script. Near the top will be a line such as the following:

   $pro_license = 'XXXX-XXXX-XXXX';

   Replace the old pro license number with your new one and save the file.

2. When transferring board-admin-menuonly.cgi back to your server, be sure to use ASCII mode. Set permissions on board-admin-menuonly.cgi to 0755 (rwxr-xr-x).

3. Log in to your administration program and go to Version Manager. Confirm that your correct Discus Professional license number appears, and then use the button to download the FTP distribution of your choice.

1. Follow normal upgrade instructions. When running the upgrade script, you will be prompted for your Discus Professional license number. Enter the new Discus Professional license number when prompted.
