ActivePerl, previously known as Active State Perl, is distributed by ActiveState Tool Corporation. Their license agreement does not permit us to distribute their Perl distribution from our site. However, you may download ActivePerl directly from their site at:

The installation is quite simple and strightforward. For support installing ActivePerl, you should consult the documentation made available by ActiveState.

Discus has most recently been tested to run properly under versions of ActivePerl 5.6.0 and higher. Customers experiencing problems that they believe may be related to ActivePerl should upgrade to the latest available build.

Important: Once you have installed ActivePerl onto your system, it is often necessary to configure your web server so that it associates a particular extension with the ActivePerl interpreter. We have documents available that describe this configuration for several popular Windows web server products:
